Client Prep Guide

Let's get you ready for our session!

The Process

1) Contract & Retainer

You’ve already done this. That means you're in my calendar and our date is booked!

2) Location Selection

I have location options and will help you pick based on your vision for our session!

3) Styling Guide

You will be sent a styling guide with all the do’s and dont’s of what to wear to your session. This really makes a huge impact on how your photos turn out! I will personally put together style guides for your family.

4) Before Our Session

I'll confirm the date/time/location a few days before! Also, remember that your remaining invoice is due before our session.

5) At Our Session

I will help prompt you but also just let your natural connections take over! PLEASE don’t worry about a kid not smiling right away, once we warm up and start having fun I’ll be able to capture the “in the moment” photos!

6) Sneak Peaks

If your as impatient as me, you are dying to see your photos! You can expect a sneak peak of 1-5 images within 2-3 days.

7) Gallery Selection

You'll also receive a proof gallery and select your favorite images! If you previously upgraded to a full gallery in the deluxe package then you'll skip this step.

8) Your Gallery

Within 3 weeks I will have your high resolution album delivered to you! ( mini sessions and extended families may take up to 4 weeks)

9) Share Your Photos

Download your images on your devices, post on social media, print cards for family or make a large canvases to display in your home! A tag is greatly appreciated when sharing on social sites!

10) Share Your Experience

You've now went through my full client experience. I would love your feedback as a review on any of my social sites (google & facebook) as word of mouth is the biggest factor in my small business!

Make the most out our your session

Be on time

~ Iron clothes and lay them out the night before so you aren't stressing about that right before the session.

~ Plan on arriving a little early just in case things don't go as planned or something pops up last minute.

Little details Matter

~ Professional hair and make-up are encouraged.

~ Style your hair. Get it dyed if unwanted roots are showing.

~ Have clean or painted nails.

~ Empty wrists and pockets before our session!

Be Prepared

~ Bring any sentimental items you want photographed.

~ Feed yourselves and kids before. We don’t want any hangry faces!

The Do's

Do share your photos

~ Share with friends and family.

Do credit me when sharing

~ Word of mouth helps my small business tremendously.

DO download the images on multiple devices

~ I do not guarantee your images after 30 days.

The Dont's

Don't screenshot your images

~ This displays poor quality of all the hard work that went into your images.

Don't add filters or edits to your images

~ I have a certain style that displays my brand best. It is in the contract that you will not edit the photos

Don't Crop or alter your images

~ This does not count when printing an image, but altering the images before sharing them on social media poorly displays the professional work I put into your photos.

For the kiddos

DO tell them your having a photoshoot in a few days! E.g. “Mrs. Dakota is going to have so much fun playing with us in the field in a few days! We are going to get dressed up in this pretty outfit I bought you and she's going to take pictures while we play. Maybe we can get ice cream when we are done. Doesn’t that sound fun?“

DON'T tell them that they are going to have to sit and smile and say “cheese“ for the camera. This creates unnatural and stiff photos. You will not be looking at the camera *most* of the time! But don't worry, we will capture the good smiling family picture for Grandmas fridge! My goal is to get you guys laughing and having fun moments together.

For the parents

Same goes for you…Don’t always stare right into the camera. If I want you to look, I’ll get your attention. Remember OUR goal here is for YOU to connect…and for ME to capture that connection.

We are going to let the kids run this show...really! If they are picking flowers, dancing, jumping...just join in! Would you believe I've gotten some of the sweetest pictures will baby was crying? Just snuggle them in and comfort them. I’ll get them looking when I need them when it's a good time. Keeping them happy and having fun is how we are going to get the most genuine pictures and that's our ultimate goal!

The #1 goal is for you to connect in a way that is unique to your family.

I can't wait to work with you!

My best tip? Come with no expectations. We will warm up to each other and be able to capture all the moments. So please don’t stress about your kids not looking and smiling or your grumpy husband who really hates getting photos done. We will make the best of it and capture your true selves!
